How to Own Your Domain, Website, and Public Identity
A practical guide for independent escorts: what to control, what to receive, and how to move without starting again.

Before paying a website deposit, establish four things: who controls the domain, which files and rights you receive, what keeping it online costs, and how you can move later.
You can delegate the technical work and retain these decisions. For an independent escort, that includes control over the professional name, personal materials, and contact routes people see.
Know what you are paying for
| Part | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Domain | Who holds the registration, manages renewal, and can transfer control. |
| Website | Which project files, approved assets, and usage rights you receive. |
| Hosting | Who manages the services, what renews, and what each fee includes. |
| Public identity | Which name, images, words, and contact details you approve for publication. |
An owned website and a directory profile serve different purposes. Your website should also come with a clear account of what you can keep and carry forward.
Make domain privacy and control explicit
The registrar supplies the domain registration; the registrant is its recorded holder. The person connecting it to your website may simply be its technical administrator.
If you already have a domain, retain control of its account. If you need one, SILLURA can purchase and manage it on your behalf through a registrar chosen for its privacy arrangements. Before purchase, we clarify the recorded holder, required information, renewal, and transfer process.
Ask separately what the provider needs privately and what appears in public lookups. Privacy and proxy services differ; a proxy provider may be the recorded holder. An “offshore” label alone does not establish anonymity or remove registration requirements.
For any managed arrangement, get your rights and route to control in writing. Record the renewal date; an included first year still has an expiry. For accounts you control, use an independent recovery email, enable two-factor authentication, and keep recovery codes securely.
Receive a website another developer can continue
Ask for the complete agreed source project—the files used to maintain and rebuild the website—plus approved assets and setup instructions. Identify any connected services and necessary content exports. A live link alone cannot provide that handoff.
The agreement should state your rights to use, modify, and move the commissioned work, and when delivery takes place. Photographs, fonts, and software can have separate licences; confirm any restrictions or ongoing costs.
The practical test is simple: could another developer continue this website using what I receive? If an editing platform limits what can be exported, understand that before choosing it.
Choose how much technical work you carry
SILLURA offers two paths. Both preserve the agreed client rights to the completed website, source project, approved assets, and public identity. Day-to-day administration differs.
SILLURA manages the home
We handle domain setup, hosting, putting the site online, and technical upkeep. You send the materials and approve the work; we look after the infrastructure.
Where your commission includes the first year of domain registration and managed hosting, there are no additional charges for those included services during that period. Your written scope records its dates, the annual renewal price, and what upkeep covers. Renewal is optional; creative edits and ongoing content publishing have their own terms.
The services sit in your accounts
You create and retain the relevant provider accounts. We guide the setup and deployment, with a short list of actions such as creating accounts, enabling account security, and granting collaborator access.
The host must fit the website. Cloudflare Pages can suit a static site; other features may need a service such as Vercel. We explain the suitable setup, provider charges, and who handles upkeep. Check that each provider permits your intended content.
Either path needs active hosting and a renewed domain to keep the website live.

You can change the arrangement later
Choosing managed hosting does not prevent a later move. SILLURA can supply the complete agreed source project and approved assets, with practical guidance for setting up services in your accounts. Handoff follows the agreed payment terms and any registrar requirements; assistance, timing, and possible costs should be clear before the move.
Changing hosts usually allows you to keep the same domain. Test the new setup, including email and inquiry delivery, before closing the old service. Preserve existing page addresses; if any change, arrange redirects. Moving hosts and transferring a domain between registrars are separate tasks.
Decide what becomes public
You approve your professional name, personal materials, location details, and where inquiries arrive. Website publication, search visibility, portfolio inclusion, and social promotion need separate decisions. Permission to build a site should not silently authorise every later use of your identity.
Ask how unpublished materials are handled. A private preview needs access protection: keeping it out of search does not make it private.
Retain your original materials and the versions you approved. Our guide to a discreet inquiry flow covers control over first contact.
Ask these five questions before the deposit
- Who holds my domain, and how do I gain control or transfer it?
- Which files, rights, and instructions will I receive, and when?
- What is included now, what renews later, and what costs extra?
- Which uses of my name and materials require my approval?
- If I leave, what moves with me—and what assistance or costs apply?
Keep the written answers with your registration details, delivered project, service list, and renewal dates. Store passwords separately in a secure password manager.
If a studio cannot explain how you recover access, retain the work, or leave, clarify that before paying. These questions apply whoever builds your site.
For SILLURA, this forms part of our Method. Your written commission records the particular inclusions and renewal terms; Pricing gives the broader context. To discuss your own arrangement, begin at the Private Desk.
